Dates make a great snack because they are high in fiber and protein. This simple easy to make smoothie recipe is very filling and packed with healthy fat, high fiber, and lots of protein. Chia seeds are great to add to smoothies because they are full of fiber, protein, and healthy fats. They have a high source of B vitamins and minerals like magnesium, manganese and phosphorus. The best part of all is that Chia seeds are high in Omega-three fatty acids! Omega-three fatty acids are essential in the diet and we usually only hear about them from fish but there are vegetarian omega three's as well, these omega threes are ALA (alpha-linolenic acid).
